On May 28-29, we’re going to be in Barcelona to connect with Travel Brands At The EU-Startups Summit! The annual flagship event, showcasing a selection of Europe’s hottest startups who come together to learn from some of the most successful European entrepreneurs of our time.
The EU-Startups Summit 2020 will bring together 1,500 founders, startup enthusiasts, corporates, angel investors, VCs, and media from across Europe. The two-day event is a great opportunity for networking, and a meeting point for aspiring entrepreneurs and investors who are aiming to build international tech companies. We’ll have fireside chats with internationally successful founders, great networking opportunities (with a dedicated networking app), workshops, and an exciting pitch competition on the main stage with 15 startup teams – selected from over 1,000 applicants!

Speakers At The EU-Startups Summit
Co-founder and CEO of Boom imagestudio. At the EU-Startups Summit, he will join us on the workshop stage to share his insights on “Move fast and build things: A new approach to thrive into the future.”
Federico leads the team at BOOM, a hyper-growing tech company that provides high-quality photographic solutions. Founded in 2018 in Milan, Italy, BOOM blends human abilities with the power of AI-driven technologies, to reduce effort across the entire photo shoot cycle, from booking to delivery. With BOOM qualifying at Web Summit as one of Europe’s fastest growing startups, Federico knows a thing or two about being the pilot of a fast-moving rocket, keeping an eye on both short-term and long-term aspirations.
CEO of Homelike is the largest European marketplace for corporate housing where business travelers can rent furnished temporary apartments for one month or longer in just a few clicks, making the process as simple as booking a hotel room. Homelike boasts more than 50,000 fully furnished apartments across 100+ cities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain and the UK. Founded in 2015, the fast-growing startup works with landlords, requiring them to provide 10 standards such as professional invoices, high-speed wifi and direct contact with the owner.
Co-founder and CEO of booming delivery service Glovo. Oscar needs little introduction, but we can try. Just 27 years old, Oscar has acted as the CEO and founder of Glovo for 5 years now, driving the growth of one of the world’s fastest growing on-demand delivery players. Steering the “Glovo ship” is no mean feat, as last year they averaged launching in a new city every 4 days, are now present in +23 countries across Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia, and it seems they never cease to snap up funding for expansion. Unsurprisingly, Oscar is also certainly no stranger to growing a team that maintains company culture, with team numbers surpassing 1,500 people (and growing!).
Founder of Founders Pledge. At the EU-Startups Summit, David will join us on the main stage to talk about “How can founders do more good in the world? Maximise your impact and be a catalyst for systematic change”.
Founders Pledge aims to empower entrepreneurs to do immense good. The organisation was founded by David in 2015, and has become a global movement that empowers entrepreneurs to find – and fund – solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. The Founders Pledge team believes that the value created by tech can also benefit those who need it most, and want to make impactful innovation the norm. With offices now in London, Berlin, New York and San Francisco, they have facilitated entrepreneurs to raise over €1.85 billion for charitable causes, with €393.46 million of those commitments fulfilled.
Co-founder and CEO of rising star Unbabel. They remove language barriers between companies and their customers by blending artificial intelligence with a global network of translators to provide real-time, human-quality translations at scale. We recently reported that they raised €55 million in Series C financing, bringing their total figure for funding to $91 million, as well as being given the title of ‘Best global Machine Translation Quality Estimation’ at WMT19. Founded in 2013, they are already working with major players, such as Booking.com, TomTom, Trello, easyJet and Microsoft, offering them ‘next dimension of multilingual customer support’.
CEO and Founder of rapidly growing Executive Search company Ethan Partners. Previously Ann-Christine was Director of International Recruiting at Rocket Internet. At the EU-Startups Summit, she will join us on the workshop stage to share her insights on “How to hire and retain top talent for your startup”.
Making sure that a new team member is a right fit, not just in terms of skills and culture, but also regarding growing responsibilities as your startup scales, is indeed key to raising the quality, productivity and efficiency of your total workforce.

Having placed over 3000+ outstanding candidates and worked with companies like Deliveroo, Uber and Airbnb, Ann-Christine knows how important acquiring the right talent is for building and scaling a company.
