In the tourism industry especially, video must surely be the best medium for presenting all that a destination has to offer. Appealing images and a good story, these are just some of the elements that turn a short travel video into a viral hit, which means that traditional promotional films are increasingly being replaced by short clips to be consumed via social media.
The Video Summit
The first international Video Summit will be held in Leipzig, Germany on the 4th & 5th October 2016. 60 leading international video marketing experts will be invited to Leipzig to exchange knowledge and ideas with around 80 representatives from the tourism industry. Interested industry experts can reserve their tickets now for the Video Summit.
Two eventful days are planned to discuss the latest trends. ” The Summit will feature specialist presentations as well as workshops on the latest trends in live videos, storytelling, and video marketing. Afterwards, there will be a video competition in which the five best video bloggers will spend a week exploring the city of Leipzig. The objective is to produce short clips that present the city of Leipzig in all its diversity as a travel destination for music and culture enthusiasts, trade fair visitors, families and young travelers. The winner of the Summit Award will then be commissioned to produce video clips for the destination marketing campaign.
No one can ignore the medium of video anymore!
Leipzig has found success in the past with a similar event format. The Social Travel Summit 2014 in Leipzig brought together 150 social media experts from the travel industry. Communication under the hashtag #STSLeipzig during the Summit generated 75 million impressions on social networks. The hashtag was the third most used hashtag in the world on the days of the event.
